Gurú Ravidas
 Ravidas, el santo zapatero, fue contemporáneo de Kabir en el siglo XV y también era de Benarés. Ravidas criticó las formas de culto ritualistas practicadas tanto en el hinduismo como en el islam. Hizo hincapié en la transitoriedad de la vida, la inminencia de la muerte y la importancia de la verdadera devoción a Dios mediante la audición del Nombre o Sonido interior, practicada bajo la guía de un maestro. Sus poemas se caracterizan por su valentía y lenguaje realista, y están infundidos de verdadera humildad, amor a Dios, y del dolor de la separación que sufrió. En este volumen se incluyen más de 25 poemas que abarcan los principios básicos místicos de Sant Mat, tales como la necesidad de un maestro vivo, la devoción al Nombre, el vegetarianismo, y la ley del karma.Ravidas was a contemporary of Kabir in the fifteenth century, and was also from Banares. Ravidas criticized the ritualistic forms of worship practiced in both Hinduism and Islam. He stressed the transience of life and the imminence of death, and the importance of true devotion to God by listening to the Name or Sound within, under the guidance of a Master. His poems are marked by bold, down to earth language and are infused with his true humility, love for God, and the pain of separation that he experienced. Quite a few poems that are included in this volume cover the basic mystic principles of Sant Mat, such as the necessity of a living Master, devotion to the Name, vegetarianism, and the law of karma.
