ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ

ਪੰਦਰਵੀਂ ਸਦੀ ਵਿਚ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਰਾਜ ਵਿਚ ਹੋਏ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ, ਦਸ ਗੁਰੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਲੜੀ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਨ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ, ਸਿੱਖ ਧਰਮ ਦੀ ਅਧਾਰ ਸ਼ਿਲਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਨਿਡਰਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਈਸ਼ਵਰ ਦੀ ਏਕਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਹਾਨਤਾ; ਮੂਰਤੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਰਮ-ਕਾਂਡ ਦੀ ਵਿਅਰਥਤਾ; ਦੇਹਧਾਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਭਾਵ ਦਾ ਮਹੱਤਵ ਅਤੇ ਆਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਅੰਦਰਲੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਧੁਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਨ ਦਾ ਵਰਣਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਪੁਸਤਕ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਅਧਿਆਤਮਿਕ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਲ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਈਸ਼ਵਰ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਆਤਮਿਕ ਮਾਰਗ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੱਲਣ ਲਈ ਨਾਮ ਭਗਤੀ (ਸ਼ਬਦ ਅਭਿਆਸ) ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹਨ। ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ-ਮਿਹਰ ਅਤੇ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਤਮਿਕ ਸ਼ੋਭਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਲੌਕਿਕਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਵਿਚ ਅਧਿਆਤਮਿਕਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਨੈਤਿਕਤਾ ਦੇ ਡੂੰਘੇ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਉਦਾਹਰਣ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਵਿਸਤਾਰ-ਪੂਰਵਕ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ।

Guru Nanak, a mystic saint of fifteenth-century Punjab, India, was first in the line of the ten Gurus upon whose teachings the Sikh religion was founded.
