ਸ਼ਮਸ-ਏ-ਤਬ੍ਰੀਜੀ

ਇਹ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਵਿਚ ਲਿਖੀ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਸ਼ਮਸ-ਏ-ਤਬ੍ਰੀਜ਼ੀ ਦਾ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਅਨੁਵਾਦ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ਮਸ ਤਬ੍ਰੇਜ਼ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਅਪਣੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮੁਰੀਦ ਜਲਾਲੁਦੱਦੀਨ ਰੂਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ ਰੂਹਾਨੀ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧਿਤ 500 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਰੂਮੀ ਦੇ ਮੁਰਸ਼ਦ ਸ਼ਮਸ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਝਲਕ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਰੂਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਦਾ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਚਾਣ ਕਰਾਈ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਸੱਚਾ ਆਸ਼ਕ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਪੁਸਤਕ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਵਿਚ ਇਸਲਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਫ਼ੀਵਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਦੱਸੀ ਗਈ ਅੰਦਰੂਨੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਪਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਸ਼ਮਸ ਦੇ ਰੂਹਾਨੀ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਸੰਖੇਪ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ, ਪਾਠਕ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਸ਼ਮਸ ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਛੁਪੇ ਅਲੱਗ-ਅਲੱਗ ਅਰਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਬਚਨ 800 ਸਾਲ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਖੁਦ ਰੂਮੀ ਨੇ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ।

This translation contains more than 500 passages from the recorded discourses of Shams-e Tabrizi's teachings as given to his chief disciple, Jalal al-Din Rumi. We get glimpses of Shams, Rumi's spiritual master, as he transformed Rumi into a God-intoxicated, God-realized human being. The context of Islam and the Sufi expression of inner devotion are underscored in the Foreword. Brief commentaries on the prose give readers a sense of the many meanings contained in Shams' words as captured by his disciples, probably even including Rumi himself, nearly 800 years ago.
