ਬੋਲੈ ਸ਼ੇਖ ਫ਼ਰੀਦ

ਬਾਬਾ ਫ਼ਰੀਦ (1173-1265) ਪਹਿਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਸੂਫ਼ੀ ਸੰਤ ਸਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਰਚਨਾਵਾਂ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਚ ਲਿਖੀਆਂ। ਵਿਸ਼ਵ-ਵਿਆਪੀ ਸੂਫ਼ੀ ਪਰੰਪਰਾ ਵਿਚ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਸਥਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਵਿਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦਾ ਵਰਣਨ ਹੈ। ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਾਣੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਸਪਸ਼ਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਦਾ ਮਾਰਗ ਸਦਾ ਇਕ ਹੀ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਵੀ ਓਹੀ ਹੈ।

Baba Farid (1173-1265) was the first well-known Sufi saint to have composed in the Punjabi language, and occupies a special place in the great worldwide Sufi tradition. This book deals with his life and teachings, which correspond to the teachings of the mystics of all other traditions.
