બાબા ફરીદ (ઈ.સ.1173-1265) પંજાબીમાં પોતાની રચનાઓ લખનાર પ્રથમ જાણીતા પ્રસિદ્ધ સૂફી સંત હતા. વિશ્વવ્યાપક સૂફી પરંપરામાં એમનું વિશિષ્ટ સ્થાન છે. આ પુસ્તકમાં એમના જીવન અને ઉપદેશનું વર્ણન છે. અગાઉ થઈ ગયેલા પૂર્ણ સંતોની રચનાઓની જેમ જ એમની રચનાઓ વાંચવાથી સ્પષ્ટ થાય છે કે પ્રભુપ્રાપ્તિ માટેનો માર્ગ હંમેશાં એક જ રહ્યો છે અને આજે પણ એ જ છે.

Baba Farid (1173-1265) was the first well-known Sufi saint to have composed in the Punjabi language, and occupies a special place in the great worldwide Sufi tradition. This book deals with his life and teachings, which correspond to the teachings of the mystics of all other traditions.
