Sant Garib Das

Sant Garibdas was an 18th century mystic of Haryana who was greatly influenced by Kabir Sahib. Sant Garibdas stresses the importance of a true Master in the quest for the heavenly Father. He says that a perfect Master, who is one with the Lord, can alone lead the imperfect disciple to Him. Sant Garibdas explains that all outwardly methods of meditation are man-made and consequently imperfect. The Lord’s Nam, Shabd or Nad is the only true means of erasing the effect of all previous karmas to cleanse the soul for union with Him. The language and style of his compositions is simple and easily understood by the people.
