 ਸੰਤ ਗਰੀਬ ਦਾਸ18ਵੀਂ ਸ਼ਤਾਬਦੀ ਵਿਚ ਹੋਏ ਹਰਿਆਣਾ ਤੇ ਸੰਤ ਗਰੀਬ ਦਾਸ ’ਤੇ ਕਬੀਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮ ਪਿਤਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਖੋਜ ਲਈ ਸੰਤ ਗਰੀਬ ਦਾਸ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਮਹੱਤਵ ਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਆਪ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਇਕ-ਮਿਕ ਹੋਇਆ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਹੀ ਅਪੂਰਨ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੱਕ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸੰਤ ਗਰੀਬਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਸਮਝਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਬਾਹਰਮੁਖੀ ਸਾਧਨਾ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਣਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਅਧੂਰੇ ਹਨ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ, ਸ਼ਬਦ ਜਾਂ ਨਾਦ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੂਰਵ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਟਾ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਇਕ-ਮਾਤਰ ਸਾਧਨ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਵਿ ਦੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ੈਲੀ ਬੜ੍ਹੀ ਸਰਲ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕ ਅਸਾਨੀ ਨਾਲ ਸਮਝ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।Sant Garibdas was an 18th century mystic of Haryana who was greatly influenced by Kabir Sahib.
