Surdas was a great Saint of the ‘Bhakti’ movement during the 15th century. Goswami Tulsidas referred to Rama whereas Surdas chose Krishna as the medium for the expression of divine truth. However, the spiritual truth and divine meaning is common to Saints at all times and places. Using Braj bhasha, the local language, Surdas successfully reached the hearts of the populace.
