ਸੰਤ ਧਰਨੀਦਾਸ

17ਵੀਂ ਸਦੀ ਵਿਚ ਹੋਏ ਸੰਤ ਧਰਨੀਦਾਸ ਦਾ ਬਿਹਾਰ ਦੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਹੱਤਵ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਥਾਨ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਦਾ ਅਧਾਰ ਧਰਨੀਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਉਪਲਬਧ ਬਾਣੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਦੇ ਮਹੱਤਵ, ਇਸ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਤਮ-ਸਾਖਿਆਤ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਦੀ ਬਿਰਹਾ ਤੋਂ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਡੂੰਘੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦਾ ਪਤਾ ਚੱਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸੰਤ ਧਰਨੀਦਾਸ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਲਈ ਇਕ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਲੈਣ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਤੇ ਅਮਲ ਕਰਨ ਤੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।

Sant Dharni Das, a seventeenth-century mystic, has a high status among the Saints of Bihar.
