ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨ ਦੇਵ

ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ (1563-1606 ਈ.) ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਗੱਦੀ ਦੇ ਪੰਜਵੇਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਨ। ਆਦਿ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਦਾ ਸੰਕਲਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਵਿਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ, ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਉੱਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਪਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਜਿਹੜਾ ਜਿਗਿਆਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਖੋਜ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ-ਜਨਮ ਦੀ ਅਨਮੋਲ ਦਾਤ ਦਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਲਾਭ ਉਠਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਅਤੇ ਰਚਨਾ ਦੀ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਤੋਂ ਸਰਲ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਵੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਅਧਿਆਤਮਿਕ ਰਤਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਹੈ।

Guru Arjun Dev (1563-1606) was the fifth Guru in the line of Guru Nanak, who compiled the Adi Granth. This book, which includes an overview of the Guru's life and teachings, highlights his message in which he exhorts the seeker to fully utilize the priceless gift of the human form by seeking God-realization. Guru Arjun Dev's teachings, while simple in form and language, are a treasure trove of spirituality.
