ਤੁਲਸੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ

ਪੂਨੇ ਦੀ ਰਾਜਗੱਦੀ ਦੇ ਵਾਰਸ ਤੁਲਸੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ (1763-1843 ਈ.) ਨੇ ਰੂਹਾਨੀ ਸੱਚ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੀ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਉੱਤਰੀ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿਚ ਹਾਥਰਸ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਕੇ ਡੇਰਾ ਲਗਾਇਆ। ਇਥੇ ਕਈ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਲੂ ਆਪ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਉਣ ਲੱਗੇ। ਇਸ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਵਿਚ ਤੁਲਸੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ-ਚਰਿਤਰ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਭਰੀਆਂ ਰਚਨਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ ਆਗਰਾ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜੀ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਦਾ ਉਲੇਖ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਸਿਧ ਰਚਨਾ ਘਟ-ਰਾਮਾਇਣ ਵਿਚ ਕੱਟੜਪੰਥੀ ਹਿੰਦੂਆਂ, ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਵਾਦ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਤੀਰਥ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਦੇ ਬਾਹਰੀ ਧਰਮ-ਕਰਮ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਦਰੂਨੀ ਰੂਹਾਨੀ ਅਭਿਆਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤਾਂ ਤੇ ਵੀ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਆਪਣੇ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਰਤਨਸਾਗਰ ਵਿਚ ਆਪ ਨੇ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਰਹੱਸ, ਕਰਮ-ਸਿਧਾਂਤ , ਮੌਤ ਅਤੇ ਵਕਤ ਦੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਹੱਤਵ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।

As this book explains, Tulsi Sahib (1763-1843), heir to the throne of Poona (Pune), renounced his royal heritage to seek mystic reality, moving to Hathras in northern India where he attracted a devoted following. The book has now been revised to incorporate additional research elaborating upon Tulsi Sahib’s teachings and poems. Many of the poems attempt to describe the indescribable. They hint at the grandeur, sweetness and brilliance of the inner worlds experienced by one who ‘goes within’ under the guidance and protection of a Satguru. A number of intriguing dialogues from the famous Ghat Ramayan with people belonging to various religions and traditions including Muslims, Hindus, Jains and followers of Kabir and Guru Nanak – show the way Tulsi Sahib expressed the inner path of Shabd for self-realization and God-realization in a truly multi-religious environment.
