दारा शिकोह

पुस्तक ‘दारा शिकोह – सूफ़ी शहज़ादा’ दीवान-ए-दारा शिकोह से ली गई गज़लों और रुबाइयों का संग्रह है। इसमें दारा शिकोह तथा बावा लाल दयाल के बीच हुए वार्तालाप के कुछ अंश भी शामिल किए गए हैं। मुगल साम्राज्य जब अपनी प्रसिद्धि की चरम सीमा पर था, उस समय दारा शिकोह उसके उत्तराधिकारी बननेवाले थे। वह ऐसे शहज़ादा थे जिनका रुझान राजनीति से अधिक रूहानियत की ओर था। उन्होंने हिंदू धर्म तथा इस्लाम धर्म के धर्मग्रंथों को गहराई से पढ़ा और समझा तथा दोनों धर्मों की समानता को दर्शाने का प्रयास किया। उनका मानना था कि अल्लाह एक है। हर इनसान अल्लाह की औलाद है और उसकी दया-मेहर का बराबर का हिस्सेदार है।

‘Dara Shikoh – Sufi Shahzada’ is a collection of Ghazals and Quatrains taken from Diwan-e-Dara Shikoh. It also includes excerpts from questions & answers between Dara Shikoh and Bawa Lal Dayal. Dara Shikoh was to be the successor to the throne of the Mughal Empire when it was at the peak of its glory. Being a prince, he was more inclined towards spirituality rather than politics. He had studied and understood the scriptures of Hinduism and Islam in depth. He wanted to bring out the similarities between these two religions. He believed that God is one and for him His name was Allah. His view was that every human being is Allah’s child and deserves His grace and mercy equally.
