समर्थ रामदास

यह पुस्तक महाराष्ट्र के महान संत समर्थ रामदास स्वामी के जीवन और उपदेश पर आधारित है। सत्रहवीं शताब्दी में हुए इस संत ने बारह वर्ष की आयु में सांसारिक संबंधों का त्याग करके कठोर साधना की। आपने पूरे भारतवर्ष में भ्रमण करके जनसाधारण को जागरूक किया और उन्हें आत्मिक उत्थान की प्रेरणा दी। आपके यशस्वी शिष्य छत्रपति शिवाजी आपके मार्गदर्शन में अंत तक अपनी प्रजा के हित के लिए कार्य करते रहे। समर्थ रामदास स्वामी ने अपने जीवन काल में कई ग्रंथों की रचना की जिनमें ‘दासबोध’ विशेष रूप से प्रसिद्ध है। अपनी वाणी में जीवन के विभिन्न पक्षों की विस्तार से चर्चा करते हुए समर्थ रामदास स्वामी ने प्रभुप्राप्ति को मनुष्य जन्म का मुख्य उद्देश्य बताया है और गृहस्थी तथा परमार्थ में संतुलन बनाए रखने पर बल दिया है। आपने समझाया है कि सच्चे ज्ञान की प्राप्ति सतगुरु की शरण में जाकर होती है और प्रेम तथा समर्पण का भाव दृढ़ होने पर ही अंतर्मुख साधना में सफलता मिलती है।

This book is based on the life and teachings of Maharashtra’s great saint Samarth Ramdas. Born in the 17 th century, this saint at the age of 12 gave up all worldly relations and practiced relentless meditation. He toured all of India to enlighten people and encouraged them towards spiritual awakening. Under his guidance, his illustrious disciple Chatrapati Shivaji kept on working for the welfare of his people till the very end. Samarth Ramdas wrote several books in his life time, out of which ‘Dasbodh’ is most famous. Talking about various aspects of life, Samarth Ramdas, while maintaining that God-realization is the main objective of human birth, also stressed upon maintaining a balance between family life and spirituality. He explained that true knowledge is gained only by going under the refuge of a Satguru and emphasized that only on the basis of love and surrender can one succeed in internal meditation.
