Sant Eknath

Sant Eknath was a sixteenth-century Maharashtrian scholar and poet-saint who taught the way of bhakti – accessing the divine through intense devotion.  His philosophical commentaries on Hindu scriptures, simple verses, folk ballads, and stories were written in Marathi so that they could be understood by ordinary people As a master of metaphor with a flair for the dramatic, he presented spiritual teachings that appealed to a wide and diverse audience. Throughout his works he emphasized the equality of all people. This book presents chapters on his life, teachings, and works, as well a treasury of his poetry.
